Soara wandered lightly along the shores, weaving in and out of the lapping waves. Light on her feet, she stepped in and out of the waters, smiling as the surf splashed up around her hooves. A light breeze blew the waves back, but they always came back, to wash over the sand once more.
It was so peaceful, here, she thought, gazing out across the waves. All was bathed in a golden light, as the sun twinkled it's goodbyes from the distant horizon. The shafts of soft light danced across the sands, and soara danced with them for a moment, prancing in the shore. As the sun yawned and set, she knew, the moon would rise. She didn't need to look when she felt a cold ripple on her side, than of scales slowly flowing, covering her once-black coat with their cool silver. For a moment she was not one creature but two, with the sun not yet gone but the moon rising ever higher into the sky. She leaned down to look at the shallow waves, watching her reflection as it slowly rippled. One side of her was silver, the other ebony, and as the sun yawned for the last time, she watched as the silver scales crept to cover her being. She felt the ridge poke from her spine, her tail merge into one thick strand, the feathers float from her wings, leaving tough skin in their wake. Twin horns sprouted from between her ears, and those ears elongated until they whipped in the breeze. She stared, emotionless, at herself, until the star on her forehead turned to reflect the shape of the moon above her. Only then did she raise her gaze from the waters, and looked out to the horizon once more. Lightfooted, the dragon moved across the sands, pracing and splashing in the now moonlit waters.
Who would dance with her, in the gentle surf, dashed with silver from the cold moon?

Cool wind whipped his grey mane, and he watched and waited as the moon rose slowly on the horizon. And slowy, very slowly, the grey Arabian became a larger than life pure white falcon, whose eyes were as blue as the sky had been hours before. Gigantic wingspan opened, casting an eerie shadow on the ground, and he rose to the stars. Gliding easily into the shores, he could watch his relfection in the tides below. Then he saw something he wasn't ready for. A silvery dragon, silhoueted against the full moon. Alabaster wings angled, and he dived and met the dragon, who was only about twice his size. The falcon tunneled under the beast's body, then shot up into the cold air again, sweeping dust up towards the moon.
Tanith found himself in a ghostly duet, two cursed peoples, one full moon night.
He would dance with her.

Soara was looking out to the horizon when he arrived, and almost didn't see him. Even then, he was only a glimpse, a whisper of wings on the cloak of night. Gaze flickered up and caught a glimmer of eyes like the sky at midday, so unusal in the darkness of night, before he disappeared from sight. It was only moments, then, before he returned, spinning dust in his wake, pale in the moonlight. A smile flickered on her face, and she paused in her light movements, but only for a moment. Within seconds she took up the dance once more, weaving from surf to sand and back again. It didn't matter who or what he was - they were cursed. That was enough for her.
And so she danced.

Letting the wind pick him up, soaring and splitting the clouds like a knife, he then folded his wings and fell back down to earth. Moments before impact, wings spread, and he circled gracefully against the moon. The light relected off his white feathers, making him seem to glow, and the waves slashed his back as he glided low over them.
(Lost my muse.)

(Know how you feel. Mines not quite lost, just very absent minded. Like me xDD)
Doing a grapevine-like step, Soara made her way through the shores, but then paused and backed up a few steps. Like the waves that receded and advanced, she pranced forwards, then fell back, every so often giving little jumps or spins. The dance became more intricate, and slowly she moved out into the water, farther until she was almost sumberged. Then, slowly, with powerful wingstrokes she rose, until she was just a few feet above the water. Angling her leathery wings, she soared down, gaining acceleration. When her paws touched the water, she ran across it's surface, soaring ahead and slowly descending. But as the water grabbed at her ankles, it slowed her, and she sank once more into it's depths.
As her paws touched the sandy bottom, the dragon surged forwards, bounding up and out of the water. She emerged on the shore, glistening wet and with a light dancing in her eyes. The dance only paused, for now it started again, different then before. Swaying from side to side, almost drunkenly she swaggered across the shore, spinning and weaving from side to side. In her dance, she glanced up at the mysterious falcon, and was for a moment stunned cold. As he spun his trail towards the moon, he looked but a normal (if large) avian, but when sillouetted against the night's lone orb, he was far from that. Dark was his form, black as death against the silver of moonlight, and he seemed to ripple the air around him into distortion, as if with extreme heat. She shook herself mentally, passing it off as a trick of the light, but it lurked in the back of her mind as she danced. [/size]

He twirled, dancing higher and higher, seeming to never stop. Just as the moon was in reach, he would fall back down and start again. Powerful wingbeats brought him near the dragon, who swaggered to a silent beat on the shore. His twinkling blue eyes started to go misty as he charged up towards the moon. Half way there, a searing pain made him fall. Falling, still falling, then into the black depths of the water. Beating hard, he struggled up, then shot out of the water. But his flight didn't last long, and he skidded and bounced as he hit the shore. There he lay unconsious, and such absent mindedness made the moon stop, and there lie the wimpy looking grey Arabian stallion.

Soara wasn't quite sure what happened then, but as the falcon soared, she sensed a change in him. Sure enough, when his eyes misted over, she knew something was wrong. Before she could react, he was falling, tumbling towards the cold earth in a new kind of dance. She watched as he fell, for the moment pausing in her motions. As he lay, suddenly in his natural form, she knew somehow that it was too late for him. Pain showed in his misted eyes, and she knew there was nothing she could do. Confusion, anger and sorrow showed on her face, but there was no more to be said or done.
Now her dance was for him.
((o.o;; Museless.))

As he lay there, his life flashed before his eyes, and he watched the silver dragon dance, and it brought him peace. He would always remember that last dance. The cold wind blew, sweeping his mane against the sandy beach. Water floated up to him in tranquil waves, cooling his sweaty pelt. In one last breath, he closed his eyes, and died.
Suddenly he felt detached, free. Below him the dragon continued to dance, but as he floated, he could see his own body laying motionless on the beach, caressed by the waves. Looking back to the dragon, his ghostly and half transparent form again became a falcon, who was surrounded by a glimmering white mist, and even in death, they danced.

((My muse! Where did it go? *looks around*))
Soara knew the moment he died, saw the life leave him as an almost-visible mist in the air, that of shed tears and the breaths that freeze in the winter air, only to fade forgotten into the past. She slowed her motions once more, then walked slowly to his lifeless body.
As wordless and erthreal the death had seemed, soara was far from indifferent. She was disturbed - never had she seen the likes of this. What caused him to die so suddenly? Somethng in the air, in the water, in the sky? And why - why him and not her? What did she have that protected her against this - or was it just chance that he was the victim, and she was in truth just as vulnerable? Was this a freak accident, she wondered, or something to be seen to as a warning?
But for what?
