((First post! I hope it's okay!))
The valley appeared empty. The grass- dew frozen into frost- stirred quietly. It seemed so peaceful, except for a slight disturbance which was currently flattening several blades at a time...
Pawprints crushed into the grass and melted the frost, but nothing was creating them. Empty space continued to flatten the green turf. The sun appeared on the horizon and the invisible creature sped up towards it. There was an audible thud, thud across the field. Yeta'me finally threw off her invisible self, appearing as a massive white wolf with burning yellow eyes which seared into everything they saw. The spectre wolf was only partially opaque, however- the semi-transparent creature had a muzzle drenched in shockingly bright crimson blood. Its lips curled to reveal red-painted fangs as the werewolf snarled horribly at the sun.
Something strange happened. Its body rippled, muscles contracting and it slumped forwards. The head arced into the face of a horse, the neck lengthened, the body thickened... Finally, what lay in the grass was an exhausted looking palomino. Lastly, a pair of massive wings erupted from the base of her shoulders. Yeta'me let out an audible shriek as they burst from her sides, but they finally stopped thickening and she flopped over sideways.
Morning, she yawned. The grass exploded with voices.
-Good morning, Miss Yeti,- they chirped loudly.
You always know just what to say, she replied sarcastically. Yeti was her worst nickname ever created, and it was created by the stupid talking grass.
-We hope you enjoyed your sleep, Miss Yeti?-
Yes, of course, if you call werewolf problems a good night's sleep.
She sighed. It was better to talk to plants when they were in unison, at least.
Question... Is anybody else here?
